RICHMOND —
Mike E. Bryant nearly bowled a perfect game last week.
Bryant followed a spare in the first frame of his second game with 11 strikes for a 290 score in the Galaxy Classic League. This is the second-highest game rolled at Galaxy this season — topped only by a 299 game by John Hickam.
Tyler Morgan bowled the best series for the week at Galaxy with a 729 score in the Wednesday Wonders League.
Regina Barton led the women for the week at Galaxy with 228 game and 634 series in the GCL.
Galaxy Classic League
As noted at the top of the column, Mike E. Bryant rolled a 290 game to lead this league. The second-best game for the night for league members was 278 by Todd Young.
John Hickam (700) and Mark Rogers (681) bowled the top series scores for league members. Substitute Brandon Simpson rolled a 725 series.
A 600-level series was also bowled by Neil Haggard (658), Bill Bowles (650), Shawn Barton (642), Young (638), Scott Kaylor (628), Randy Burgess Sr. (621), Lewis Jones Jr. (616), Barry Miller (615), Aaron Rose (615), Bryant (614), Terry Jackson (612), Cody Daly (602) and substitute Tyler Morgan (607).
The best women’ series were 634 by Regina Barton, 519 by Andi Daly and 502 by Beverly Shearer.
Thirty-eight keglers rolled a total of 55 200-level games at this session.
Galaxy Girls
The high games by members of this league last week were 192 by Shella Cobb and 188 by Amy Felty. They also bowled the top series scores for league members with a 549 series by Cobb and a 496 series by Felty.
Substitute Beverly Shearer topped all the members of the league with a 202 game and 560 series.
Splits were converted by Fay Willis (3-4-7-10), Emma Lee Tate (9-10), Velma Cruse (5-10), Sherry Ernst (2-7) and Brenda Marcum (5-7).
Arlington
Jan Barnes led this league last Tuesday with her season-best 220 game. Yolanda Fritz rolled the second-best game (196).
Bridget Settles (514) and Doris Gish (485) bowled the high series scores for the day.
Splits were converted by Sherry Ernst (5-7) and Dewey Locker (7-9).
Early Birds
The high game (192) and series (511) in this league last Wednesday were bowled by Gail Campbell.
Karen Kensicki rolled the second-best game (190) and Beverly Shearer the second-best series (510). This was Shearer’s third 500 series for the week.
A 500-level series was also bowled by Kensicki (504) and Joyce Kearns (500).
Splits were converted by Beverly Brassfield (2-7), Juanita Lunsford (4-5), Kensicki (3-9-10) and Kearns (5-7).
Wednesday Wonders
Tyler Morgan led this league last week with a 258 game and 729 series.
Matt Joyce rolled the second-best game (235) and he tied David Norman for the second-best series at 639.
Miranda Reffitt led the women in the league with a 200 game and 556 series, followed by Rita Morgan at 197 and 499.
Mike C. Bryant rolled a season-best 182 game.
Friday Night Mixed
The high game (237) and series (641) in this league last week were bowled by Neil Haggard.
Ron Gugel rolled the second-best men’s game (225) and Lewis Jones Jr. the second-best series (622).
A 600 series was also bowled by Mark Rogers (619), Gugel (617), Bill Bowles (605) and John Hickam (603).
Shasta Richmond led the league’s ladies with her season-best 227 game, followed by Tracy Gugel with her season-best score of 206.
Narita Rose (498) and Gugel (469) bowled the top women’s series for the night.

Cash Money
J.J. Reisig led this league last week with a 244 game and 629 series. Nate Rosenbauer rolled the second-best game (199) and Pete Young bowled the second-best series (532).
The high women’s game (180) and series (462) were bowled by Colleen Jackson.
Debra Robertson recorded the second-best women’s game (145) and Janet Bird rolled the second-best women’s series (353).
Bad Bowlers No-Tap
Nine pins down with the first ball in a frame counts as a strike in no-tap leagues.
Gary Cromer led the men in this league last week with a 275 game and 695 series. Jim Campbell rolled the second-best men’s game (248) and Steve Dickey bowled the second-best men’s series (631)
Gail Campbell topped all the league members with a 278 game and she rolled the second-best women’s series (670).
The top women’s series was 692 by Tina Hisle, who also rolled the second-best women’s game (257).
A 600 series was also bowled by Jim Hisle (622), David Robinson (610), Adam Cromer (604) and Jim Campbell (600).
