RICHMOND —
One Richmond Little League All-Star team had its run at a state title come to an end Tuesday in Lebanon.
The other Richmond team is still alive.
In the 11-12 year-old tournament, Richmond National suffered an 8-7 loss to Paintsville.
In the 11-year-old tournament, Richmond American trailed 6-0 in the third inning of the semifinals before the game was postponed.
The game will resume at 7 p.m. today.
11-12 year-olds
Richmond National came up just short Tuesday in the semifinals of the Kentucky State Little League Tournament in Lebanon.
Bryar Rose was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, but the All-Stars suffered a 7-6 loss to Paintsville.
Alex Mayes was 2-for-3, Ryan Gordon was 2-for-4, Jared Grant was 3-for-4, Garrison Gray was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Logan Black was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Caleb Miller was 1-for-2, Jacob Ferris was 1-for-1 and Gavin Williams was 1-for-3.
Mayes, Miller, Ferris and Black each reached on walks.
Grant started and went four innings, allowing two runs. Rose pitched 2/3rds of an inning, allowing a run. Gordon pitched 1/3rd on an inning and allowed a run and Ferris pitched 2/3rds of an inning, allowing three runs.

44th District baseball, softball postponed
The opening games of the 44th District softball and baseball tournament did not make it out of the second inning Monday evening before the teams were forced off the field.
Both games were later postponed because of rain and lightning. -
BOWLING: Cracraft leads the way at Galaxy
The top scores bowled at Galaxy last week were a 269 game by Matt Cracraft in the Monday Mixed League and a 719 series by Randy Burgess Sr. in the non-sanctioned Wednesday Summer League.

Judging only by the results of the regular-season meetings between the four Madison County schools, it would be nearly impossible to predict the outcome of this week’s 44th District Softball Tournament.
