RICHMOND —
Two Richmond All-Stars teams moved into the championship game of the District 3 Tournament with victories Monday at Anderson-Dean Park in Harrodsburg.
In the 9-10 year-old tournament, Richmond National defeated Richmond American, 7-1, behind the strong pitching of Ethan Neal.
In the 11-year-old tournament, Richmond National defeated Eastern American, 12-1, in one semifinal, while Richmond American lost to Eastern National, 12-5, in the other semifinal.
Richmond National plays in the 9-10 championship game at 6 p.m. today in Harrodsburg.
Richmond National will take on Eastern National at 8 p.m. today in the 11-year-old title game.
9-10 year-olds
Ethan Neal allowed just one hit in 5 1/3rd innings as Richmond National moved into the title game of the District 3 Tournament with a 7-1 win over Richmond American Monday in Harrodsburg.
Neal had two strikeouts and allowed two walks and one unearned run. He also was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Richmond National scored twice in the first inning and took control with a four-run fourth inning. Richmond American got its only run in the third inning.
Nathan Story was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored for Richmond National. Colton Perkins was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, Grant Hotchkiss had a double, Zach Purvis and Luke Foley had a hit and scored a run, Tanner Howell had a hit and an RBI, Dawson Miller had a hit and Evan Beazley scored a run.
Hotchkiss pitched the final 2/3rds of an inning.
Caleb Rice started for Richmond American and went three innings. Isaac Maples pitched the final three innings.
Sawyer Cruse had a hit and Cruse Pingleton scored a run.
11-year-olds
Richmond National rolled into the finals of the District 3 Tournament with a 12-1 win over Eastern American Monday in Harrodsburg.
Ben Snapp was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single, Dalton Gregory had a three-run home run and also had a single and a double, Tyler Storie hit a solo home run and was 2-for-2, while Devin Ecklar was 2-for-3.
Jacob Beck pitched a complete game and allowed just two hits.
Richmond American had its tournament run come to an end with a 12-5 loss to Eastern National Monday in Harrodsburg.
Kenton Humphrey had two hits and scored a run, Hayden Waterback had a triple, a single and scored a run, Lincoln Lunsford had a hit and scored a run and Luke Keck had two doubles and scored twice.
Keck started and went four innings and had 10 strikeouts. Lucas Myers went the final two innings.
