Is this the “new math”?
The Big 10 Football Conference now includes 12 teams, the Big 12 Conference currently has 10 members and the Atlantic 10 basketball conference includes 16 teams.
How does an elementary school teacher explain this to her students?
Teaching geography is also problematic as the Atlantic 10 Conference includes four schools which are located far from the Atlantic Ocean — Xavier and Dayton in Ohio, Butler in Indiana and St. Louis in Missouri.
Also, the Southeastern Conference now has three members from west of the Mississippi River — Arkansas, Missouri and Texas A&M.
