Bradley elected to Hall of Fame
Bill Bradley, who has had a long career on the local bowling scene, was elected to the Kentucky State Bowling Association Hall of Fame at the Association’s meeting earlier this month.
Bradley has bowled in local leagues for 37 years. He has a best game of 299 and his best league average was 202. He has served the Madison County Bowling Association in several positions, including the role of president, and he has also held offices in the state association. He has a long record of promoting bowling at the local and state level.
Bradley has also been a prominent baseball umpire and he has held leadership positions in Kentucky baseball umpires organizations.
He is retired from the Kentucky Division of Water Patrol.
Congratulations on a well-deserved honor.
League highlights
Classic Doubles
David Norman turned in the top performance in this league last week, with games of 220 and 219 and a four-game series of 746. Steve Dickey was next, with a 216 game and 743 series.
Other men who bowled 200-level games were Dean Acker (214 and 200), Anthony Newland (212), Lynn Estes (201) and David Robinson (200).
Four-game series exceeding 700 were also rolled by Estes (736), Robinson (734) and Acker (704).
The top women’s game was 181 by Novel Davis, who also had the second-highest women’s four-game series (621). Pat Allen had the top women’s series (664) and second-highest game (172).
Laurie Lennon had the only other women’s 600-level series (609) and Amy Mayrhofer had the next-highest women’s game (163).
Splits converted included the 5-7 by Carl Daniels and the 3-10 by Kyle Schulz.
TX1 (Tina Hisle and David Robinson) holds a lead of one and one-half games over Escaped New York (Bill and Laurie Lennon) going into the final week of the season. These teams will meet in a head-to-head match Thursday to decide the league championship.
Tuesday Mixed
The best game and series last week were bowled by Carl Daniels, with a 199 game and 568 series. Steve Dickey was second, with a 178 game and 472 series.
Mary Helzer led the women with a 168 game and 443 series.
The second-highest women’s game was recorded by Wanda Sampson, with a summer-best 164 score, and Jean Chasteen with the same score. Donna Fourre had the second-highest women’s series, at 436.
Let’s Have A Ball
Mark Rogers led this fun league with a 637 series, which included the top game of the week (223) and two other 200-level games.
Lewis Jones Jr. had the second-highest game (219) and series (572).
Miranda Rowe had the next-highest game (181), while Ryan McCarthy bowled the next-highest series (504).
Bad Bowlers
The Hisle Bowlers (Misty, Hannah and Brian Hisle and Jeremy Howard) held off a challenge by the Green Onions (Renda Roberts, Narita Rose and Doug and Kim Breeding) to take the title in the Summer Bad Bowlers League by a margin of one-half game.
The Green Onions needed to take both games and the total points in their head-to-head match on the final night to win the league championship. The Green Onions took one game and total points but the Hisle Bowlers won one game to clinch the league title.
The Turkey Hunters (Tina Hisle, Luke Sullivan and Ron and Dean Acker) finished third.
Kim Breeding led the league on the last night, with a 180 game and two-game series score of 355.
Tina Hisle had the second-highest game (165) for the women, while Renda Roberts had the second-highest women’s series (308).
Dean Acker (171) and David Robinson (170) had the top men’s games, while Robinson (335) and Doug Breeding (308) bowled the top two-game series.
The 3-10 split was converted by Beverly Robinson, David Robinson, and Kim Breeding.
