Richmond All-Stars roll to wins in Cynthiana

The Richmond Little League All-Stars cruised to impressive wins on Tuesday at the District 3 Tournament in Cynthiana.

In the 11-year-old tournament, Richmond American rolled to a 12-2 five-inning win over Eastern National. In the 9-10 year-old tournament, Richmond American blasted Eastern National 10-1.

With the wins, both teams improve their records to 2-0 in the tournament.



11-year-old All-Stars

Will Daniel allowed just two hits and also had three RBIs as Richmond American rolled to an easy win Tuesday in Cynthiana. Eastern National jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Richmond tied the game the bottom of the inning, then scored four more times in the second.

Daniel had four hits, including a double, Hunter Kabalen had two hits and four RBIs, Josh Wright had two hits and an RBI, Kameron Presnell had two hits, including a double, and Tanner Thornsberry had two hits and an RBI.

Jyre Richardson, Kyle Kelsey and Drake Coomer also had hits for the Richmond National All-Stars.

After taking a 6-2 lead in the second, Richmond scored three times in the third, once in the fourth and twice more in the fifth.

The team is set to return to action at 6 p.m. today against the Western All-Stars in Cynthiana.



9-10 All-Stars

The Richmond American All-Stars used a big fifth inning to pull away for a comfortable 10-1 win over Eastern National Tuesday in Cynthiana.

Richmond blew open a close game by scoring three times in the fourth and five more times in the fifth inning.

Bryar Rose started and went 4 2/3 innings and had 10 strikeouts. Jared Grant pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for Richmond.

Ryan Gordon had two hits and walked twice, Rose had two hits and a walk and Tyler Boneta also had two hits. Alex Mayes, Brian Turner, McKinley Sewell, Jason Hurt, Logan Black and Adam Ritchey each had a hit.

The Richmond American All-Stars are set to return to action at 8 p.m. tonight against Western National in Cynthiana.
