RICHMOND —
A Richmond man is facing felony alcohol-related charges, after an injury crash.
On Saturday at about 7:16 p.m., David Worth, 44, of Bradbury Pointe Drive was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth offense or greater, a Class D felony.
He also is charged with driving on a DUI-suspended license, a Class B misdemeanor, and failure to produce an insurance card, and no registration receipt, both violations.
Worth was, “involved in an accident (on the Eastern Bypass) that caused injury to another person,” according to a police report.
When officers approached Worth’s vehicle, he was allegedly huffing from a computer duster canister, appeared anxious and agitated and failed to comply with an officer’s verbal commands, according to the report.
Worth is being held in the Madison County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.
If convicted, Worth could be face up to five years in prison.
Cocaine arrest
On Saturday, Richmond police arrested Charles E. Martin, 52, of Richmond, after he allegedly was found in possession of cocaine.
Officers allegedly observed Martin walking down Turpin Drive at about 6:01 p.m., “staggering as he walked, while carrying a bag of beers,” according to a police report.
Martin appeared intoxicated and had an odor of alcoholic beverages about his person, the report stated.
“The subject (Martin) began acting very nervous and urinated on himself,” when officers approached him, according to the report. Martin was arrested because he was “clearly a danger to himself,” according to the report. When officers searched him, they allegedly found a small plastic bag inside a cigarette pack containing a small white rock that appeared to be crack cocaine. A field test on the substance allegedly tested positive for cocaine.
Martin was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, a violation, and possession of a controlled substance, first offense, cocaine, a Class D felony.
He is being held in the Madison County Detention Center on a $10,843 bond, which includes $843 for the alcohol intoxication charge.
If convicted, Martin could face up to five years in prison.
Other crimes
• A resident of the 300 block of Reynolds Road told police that a Dewalt compound saw, valued at $700, had been stolen from his open garage the afternoon of Sept. 1. A witness told police that a small white pickup truck, possibly a Ford Ranger or Chevrolet S-10, stopped in front of the house at about 12:30 p.m. and a white male with dark hair exited the truck, walked into the garage and removed the saw.
• A $10 counterfeit bill, serial number IF20887437A was passed sometime Sunday at Applebee’s in the 800 block of Eastern Bypass.
• A temporary license plate was torn from a 2003 Dodge Caravan overnight Saturday while the car was parked in the 700 block of North 3rd Street.
• The rear window was broken out of a home in the 600 block of Cottonwood Drive, between 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 31. Stolen from the home was: 5 pounds of ground beef, a package of chicken breasts, a package of chicken legs, six beers, one-half loaf of bread, two 2-liters of soda. The food stolen is valued at $42 and the window damaged at $100.
• A red 2000 Ford Ranger was sustained severe damage on the passenger’s-side overnight Sept. 1. The owner told police he had left the keys to the vehicle in a drink holder with the car doors unlocked. The truck was parked in the 1200 block of Arlington Drive, and sustained about $12,000 in damage. A police report said the car appeared to have been wrecked, and may have been moved several feet from the original location in which it was parked.
• Two large steel panels, weighing 250 pounds each, about the size of a door and approximately 12-inches thick were stolen from Bluegrass Hearing Clinic in the 1000 block of Amberly Way between Aug. 12 and Sept. 2. The panels are valued at $4,300.
• A Gateway laptop computer and a Luminix DMC-ZS5 digital camera were stolen from an apartment in the 160 block of South Killarney Lane sometime between Aug. 16 and Sept. 2. The stolen items are valued at about $959.
• An Apple iPhone 3GS, valued at $200 was stolen from T.J.Maxx, in the 300 block of Fourth Street between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
• The front passenger-side window was smashed out of a gold Toyota RAV4 at about 7:04 p.m. Saturday while it was parked in the lot of Outback Steak House, in the 400 block of Highland Park Drive. Damage is estimated at $350.
• The front windshield was smashed and several dents were put in the roof of a purple 1995 Chevrolet Beretta at about 11 a.m. Thursday, while the car was parked in the 200 block of Logan Avenue. Damage is estimated at $400.
The front driver’s-side door handle was broken on a black 1993 Toyota Camry between 12:30 and 9:15 a.m. Thursday while the car was parked in the 200 block of Maryland Avenue.
• The passenger-side window was smashed out of a blue 2003 Dodge Dakota at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday while the car was parked in the 300 block of Overland Avenue.
