Madison Central defeats Wayne County 81-56 in first round of Sweet 16

To play either Covington Holmes or Pleasure Ridge Park at noon Friday

LEXINGTON —

The Madison Central Indians defeated Wayne County 81-56 Wednesday in the first round of the Kentucky High School "Sweet 16" tournament.

Dominique Hawkins led all scorers with 25 points.

Central's next game is noon Friday against either Pleasure Ridge Park of Louisville or Covington Holmes.

Superintendent Tommy Floyd announced that county schools will be cancelled for the day.
