RICHMOND — Working in collaboration with federal agents, Richmond police officers arrested Bradley D. Little, 21, of Merrick Drive, Friday in connection with trafficking in anabolic steroids, according to release from the Richmond Police Department.

Officers reported recovering 205 vials of anabolic steroids from Little’s residence. They also uncovered marijuana, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and more than $2,400 in cash, according to the release.

Little was charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.

He was released the next day on a $15,000 cash bond, according to jail records.

Arrest made in theft of many large home furnishings

In January, a resident in the 1100 block of Richmond Green Drive reported a 60-inch flat screen television, a three-piece entertainment center, a gray couch and love seat, a full-size bed, a washer and dryer and two pair of shoes had been stolen from his apartment. The estimated loss was $2,575.

An RPD investigation determined that Tonetta Hoevenaar, 32, of Richmond Green Drive, was in possession of the stolen property shortly after the theft and had transferred it to other parties, according to an RPD news releaes.

All of the stolen items were recovered and a warrant was issued for Hoevenaar’s arrest, charging her for two counts of receiving stolen property (over $500).

On Saturday, police responded to the same residence in the 1100 block of Richmond Green to investigate a domestic disturbance, and Hoevenaar was one of the parties involved in the altercation, according to the RPD..

She was arrested and remained jailed Monday evening on bonds totaling $3,000.

Burglary report leads to drug arrest

Around 7 p.m. Friday, RPD officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Meadowlark Drive to investigate the report of a burglary in progress.

Officers discovered the suspected burglar was the home’s resident and was attempting to gain entry, according to an RPD news release.

However, police discovered a warrant existed for Paul D. Cox, 40, charging him with nonpayment of fines in a traffic-offense case.

Cox was taken into custody, and a search of his person revealed three oxycodone pills, two alprazolam pills, a package of Suboxone strips and a straw with suspected drug residue, the release stated. 

He was then charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cox remained jailed Monday evening under a $2.500 cash bond.

Reckless driving leads to stolen street sign

Also on Friday, police responded to a report of reckless driving in the area of Merrick Drive, and found Sean M. Robinson, 24, of Richmond Green Drive, slumped over the steering wheel of an idling pickup truck sitting off Richmond Green Drive, an RPD release stated.

That’s when police discovered a street sign from the intersection of Richmond Green and Merrick drives in the bed of Robinson’s truck, according to the report. They believe he had collided with the street sign and placed it in his truck.

Robinson was taken into custody after he was awakened, and the officer determined he was intoxicated, the release stated.

He was charged with driving under the influence, receiving stolen property under $500, failure to report a traffic accident and no vehicle insurance.

Robinson was released from jail the next day in on a $1,000 unsecured third-party bond.

RPD: Irvine driver strikes vehicle, injures passenger

A vehicle driven Feb. 18 by Zachary C. Goosey, 20, of Irvine, was traveling eastbound on the Eastern Bypass when it crossed the median and struck a westbound vehicle stopped at the traffic light, according to an RPD news release.

One of the four passengers in the stopped vehicle suffered a broken arm.

Officers at the scene determined Goosey was intoxicated and arrested him, the report stated.

Goosey was charged with driving under the influence and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He remained in the Madison County Detention Center on Monday evening under a $10,000 cash bond.

Early-morning burglary call results in arrest

Around 7 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a burglary in progress reported in the 100 block of South Kilarney Lane.

The resident told police Junuis D. Randle, Jr., 22, of Fairview Street, had broken out the front bedroom window, entered her apartment and proceeded to destroy several items of property.

A visitor to the apartment attempted to subdue Randle until the officers arrived but “was only partially successful as Randle continued to destroy items in the home,” the RPD news release stated.

Officers observed several items, both inside and outside of the apartment, that had been damaged, including a television, a night stand and a wooden patio set. The resident was an acquaintance of Randle’s.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and alcohol intoxication.

Randle remained in jail Monday evening under a $5,000 cash bond.
