RICHMOND —
A Richmond man was pronounced dead early Monday morning after his car ran off the Eastern Bypass, but he did not die from injuries caused by the accident, the assistant Madison County coroner reported.
Garry Vickers, 52, probably died from a “cardiac event,” Carlos Coyle said. The official cause of death was natural causes, he said.
Vickers ran off the road between the EMS building and Baptist Health shortly before midnight Sunday night. Although his vehicle came to a rest against a cable box, there was “not enough significant injury” from the accident to cause his death, Coyle said.
Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said Vickers had a history of cardiac health problems.
Area man dies in Rockcastle County accident
Carl Taylor, 38, of Brushy Fork Road, died Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident in Rockcastle County.
Taylor was traveling alone on Flat Gap Road when his vehicle struck the side of an Interstate 75 underpass, Coyle said.
Taylor, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to St. Joseph Berea hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 p.m. according to Coyle.
Taylor died from trauma to the head and chest, Coyle reported.
Taylor’s mailing address listed Berea, but Coyle said the portion of Brushy Fork Road where he lived is in Garrard County.
