RICHMOND —
Madison County will have two high schools representing it Saturday in the Kentucky Music Educators’ state marching band championships.
Both Madison Central, 5-A Division, and Madison Southern, 4-A Division, qualified last Saturday for the the state semifinals that will take place Saturday.
Southern will be one of 16 teams competing in the 4-A semifinals at Barren County High School in Glasgow. The MSHS band is scheduled to take the field at 11:15 a.m. CT.
The 5-A semifinals will take place at Western Kentucky University’s football stadium with Madison Central the last of 16 teams in the division performing at 3:15 p.m. CT.
Eight bands from each division will go to the final round at the WKU stadium beginning with the Class A Division at 6 p.m. CT.
The 4-A competition will start at 9 p.m., followed by 5-A at 10 p.m.
