A story in the Oct. 14 Richmond Register incorrectly attributed a statement to Karen Feldhaus, faculty sponsor of the Madison Central High School cheerleading team.
Review of a video tape of the Oct. 12 school board meeting show that Feldhaus said this year was the first time in 16 years that the MCHS cheerleading team included no black students, not that none had tried out this year.
Feldhaus’ statement was in response to a question from board member John Lackey.
The newspaper regrets the error.
