BEREA — Berea officials are asking residents to boil their water before cooking with it or consuming it after a critical valve failure at the city's water plant.
A press release issued at 10 p.m. Monday from Berea Police Chief David Gregory said the valve failure led to an emergency repair and resulted in low water pressure.
The precautionary boil water advisory is in effect until further notice, Gregory said. Water should be brought to a roiling boil (three to five minutes) and let cool before cooking with it or consuming.
