Berea man dies after truck flips Saturday

Register staff report

BEREA — Zachary Croley, 30, of Blue Lick Road was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday evening after a one-vehicle crash on Pilot Knob Cemetery Road, according to Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison.

Croley was ejected from the pickup truck he was driving after it left the road at 7:35 p.m. and flipped over. He was wearing a seat belt, the coroner said.

The truck went off the pavement and the driver appeared to have over-corrected, causing it to flip, Cornelison said.

A female passenger, Elizabeth Cook, 36, of Berea was taken to Saint Joseph Berea hospital by Madison County EMS with what Cornelison described as “nonlife-threatening injuries.”

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the Berea Fire Department and Berea Rescue Squad also responded to the accident.
