Berea men arrested for robbery

BEREA — Berea police arrested two men in connection with a March 8 robbery at a check-cashing business, a spokesman said Monday.

Shawn Burns, 32, was charged with first-degree robbery and misdemeanor receiving stolen property, while Bradley Lamb, 21, was charged with complicity to first-degree robbery and misdemeanor receiving stolen property, said Capt. Ken Clark, Berea Police Department spokesman.

Clark said the duo was arrested at the Holiday Motel on Jane Street hours after the robbery was reported. A witness to the robbery saw a suspect getting into a vehicle and provided a description to police, Clark said.

A vehicle matching the description was found backed into a parking space at the motel, Clark said, and a subsequent investigation linked Burns and Lamb to the robbery. Lamb was charged with complicity for allegedly driving the vehicle, while Burns was identified as the alleged robber.

The stolen property charges stem from items found with the men that were reported stolen from a vehicle earlier that day, Clark said.

Police recovered some of the undisclosed amount of money stolen in the robbery, Clark said.

Stolen motorcycle

A $40,000 customized 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was reported stolen March 8 from outside the Econolodge on Paint Lick Road, Clark said Monday.

The motorcycle’s owner, a Michigan man, was traveling home from Florida with the bike on a trailer, Clark said.

The motorcycle had been strapped to the trailer, but was missing the following morning, Clark said.

Clark described the motorcycle as a candy apple red 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic with extra chrome.
