Doug Whitlock was named the 11th president of Eastern Kentucky University on Monday by the Board of Regents.
Whitlock, a longtime EKU administrator who retired in 2003 as vice president for administrative affairs at the university after serving the position since 1998, had been serving as interim president since August.
He replaced Joanne Glasser, who left to become the president of Bradley University in Illinois.
Whitlock’s three-year contract runs until July 31, 2010.
