RICHMOND —
Police arrested a man Thursday who reportedly was connected to a robbery in downtown Richmond.
Darrell Walker, 41, of Riva Ridge Drive, was charged with second-degree robbery and another suspect remains missing.
A complainant reported Sunday at 1:35 a.m. that he had been robbed while in the downtown area.
“The victim stated that he was walking toward Nikki’s Tavern on Water Street when he was approached by a black male who indicated that he was out of gas and asked the victim for a couple of dollars,” said Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock. “When the victim removed his wallet from his pocket and opened it to retrieve a few dollars, the suspect grabbed the wallet and took off running. The victim started to chase the suspect but another black male grabbed him and held him until the other suspect was able to escape. The victim reported that the wallet contained $80 in cash, credit cards and personal identification documents.”
The black male who grabbed and held the victim was described as being approximately 5-foot, 11-inches, stocky build, wearing a lime green shirt.
Walker remains in the Madison County Detention Center, but a bond had not been set as of Friday.
