RICHMOND —
A Berea man is in serious condition after he was struck by a car Thursday evening.
While attempting to cross KY 1016 at about 9:30 p.m., Frank Bloom, 59, of Berea, walked into the path of a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Christopher Collins, 25, also of Berea, said Sgt. Randy Hensley, of the Berea Police Department.
Bloom was hit by the car, and suffered a possible broken leg and broken ribs in the crash, said David Gregory, Berea police chief.
Bloom was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington where he was listed in serious but stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
The Blazer sustained heavy front end damage.
Collins was uninjured in the crash. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
No charges are expected to be filed against Collins, Gregory said.
Both the Berea Police and Berea Fire departments, Madison County EMS and Berea Rescue responded to the scene.
