Farmer Billy Tudor of Richmond tries to interest Harold Richardson in a head of purple cabbage Tuesday at the Richmond Farmers Market. The market, located in the parking lot of Lowe’s on the Eastern Bypass next to Walmart, will observe customer appreciation day Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. According to market spokesperson Paula Jones, customers will receive free canvas tote bags and other favors, including food thermometers, and be eligible for door prizes. The Madison County Extension Homemakers will demonstrate grilling and safe food handling methods. Also, the Baldwin 4-H Club will conduct a bake sale.
