RICHMOND —
For the first time, Madison County Airport will conduct a community-wide emergency exercise on Tuesday, Aug. 14, beginning at 6 p.m.
Numerous participants will hone their skills in responding to a mock aviation accident, according to an announcement from the county’s emergency management agency.
In addition to the airport and the EMA, the Berea fire and police departments, Madison County EMS and the Kentucky State Police will participate.
“We’ve exercised together for many events, but not for one dealing with our own airport,” said Madison County EMA Director Carl Richards. “This event takes us beyond what we deal with on a day-to-day basis.”
