In the days of yesteryear, there was a fun-spirited game people used to play on one another during the Christmas season. When two people would meet along the way, the first person to shout the words “Christmas Gift” was supposed to receive some sort of present from the other person.
Now, no one actually expected to get a gift; this was merely an old-fashioned, animated way of greeting one another during the Christmas holidays.
Hearing people exchange Christmas greetings just thrills my very soul. Generally, these greetings are delivered with wide smiles and the goodwill of the season.
Isn’t that what it is all about---remembering that this is the time of year that America acknowledges an appointed time for celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ?
I am not naïve in knowing that our nation is filled with a populace of various religious beliefs, but why is it suddenly that everyone, who isn’t a Christian, is offended by the very word, ‘Christian’?
Personally, I think the word atheist is an oxymoron. It seems to me that a person would have to believe that there is a God, to be against His Name and any words that might pertain to His existence? I am just saying---if God doesn’t exist, then why be against something that you really believe isn’t real in the first place?
