Mark calendars for craft fairs

Paula Jones

Hello from Baldwin,

How is everyone’s week going? I hope everyone is having a great one. We have been getting a little much-needed rain this week, and if the weather man is right, it is suppose to be a beautiful weekend. I hope he is right.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Lindsey Anne Perkins and Michael Shanks, Sunday; Connie Howe, Thursday; Margaret Curry, Nancy Carol Young, Martha Perkins and Artie Ross, Friday; Devin Foster, Mandy Perkins and Kylie Goins, Saturday.

I hope that you all have happy birthdays and many more to come.

Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Tommy and Christi Harrison on Monday. I hope that you have a very happy anniversary and many more to come.

On Saturday, my sisters and I will be setting up our crafts to sale at the Richmond First Presbyterian Church Arts and Crafts for Missions, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. The location will be at the Christian Life Center, 330 West Main Street. Lunch will be served for $5 a ticket, that will include soup, sandwich, drink and small dessert and will be served 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be an all-day bake sale and silent auction. Many crafters are coming from surrounding counties. There will be gently used books, CDs, jewelry, toys and purses for all ages. We do hope that you will be able to stop by and shop at this craft show. I am sure you won’t go home empty handed.

On Dec. 4, the Altrusa Club will be having its chili supper at the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church on the corner of Main and Lancaster Avenue. They will be serving chili from 5 to 7 pm. For $5, you will get a hot bowl of chili, a drink and dessert. Children 5 and under eat free. My sisters and I and other crafters will be set up with our crafts at the chili supper, so before you go to the Richmond Christmas parade, stop in and get you a hot bowl of chili to warm you up and look at the crafts. We hope to see you there. Mark your calendars for these craft shows and we hope to see you there.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, we’ll be showing our crafts for sale at the Holiday Happenings Craft Fair at Richmond City Hall, located on West Main Street. There will be several crafters there with many items for sale. Kenny Caudill Photography will there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to take photos with Santa. Also, Cub Scout Troop Pack 376 will be there selling refreshments and snacks as a fundraising project.

On Sunday afternoon, the descendents of Johnson Dudley Jones and Hattie Lou Burrus Jones gathered at the fellowship hall of Bethel Christian Church for a family reunion. Them being my grandparents, I was there. My grandparents had 10 grandchildren and nine of them attended the reunion. Thirty-five family members in all were there and two visitors. We enjoyed a wonderful potluck meal, looking at old pictures and taking new pictures. We had a video of our grandmother, Hattie Burrus Jones’ 100th birthday playing all afternoon. It was a wonderful day. I don’t think there was anyone who didn’t have a great time.

Well, I guess that’s all for now. Let me know if you hear any news. Just give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail at pljones61@netzero.com.
