Hello everyone. The Community Center will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving gathering. The churches from Poosey and Kirksville, Kirksville Baptist, Christian Church, Full Gospel Tabernacle, Mt. Pleasant, the Poosey Community Church, Salem and the Gilead Church will be joining together to celebrate a day of thanksgiving for their past blessings. The celebration will be on Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. It will be a potluck meal. Everyone is invited to hear a good message from several of the church pastors.
Christmastime is nearing and I know many of the churches already are making plans for their special celebration. On Dec. 4th from 6 to 8 p.m., Kirksville Baptist Church will be having a preschool and children’s Christmas activity by presenting, “A walk Through the Christmas Story.” Mark the date on your calendar and bring a child.
I hope everyone had the opportunity to hear the Full Gospel Tabernacle Singers on WLJC on Thursday night. If you missed it, you can access it on the Internet under WLJC archives and click on Nov.12.
Leaves are everywhere in my yard. I think Duane and I are going to hire the Boy Scout Troop 762 to do leaf clean up. I know I am lazy, but it is a lot of work and they do need fundraisers. That sound like a good excuse, don’t you think?
The clothing bank at the Community Center will be open this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Molly says that new clothes comes in weekly. So, if you have a need, stop by and visit. Remember this is always on the third Saturday of the month.
Friday night will be the Fall Family Fun night at the Salem Church in Poosey. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with games and a cake walk; at 7 p.m. will be the chili supper, and then at 8 p.m. the hayride. If you need directions, call Johnny and Patty Davis at 328-4118.
