Come visit the Farmers Market

Paula Jones

Hello from Baldwin,

How is everyone’s week going? I hope that everyone is having a great one. Well, it’s been pretty hot this week. As I sit and write my article this Wednesday morning, it is giving rain and storms for today and the next few days. Maybe it will cool things off. I just hope the storms are not severe.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Gary Wayne Sanders and Abigail Schwab, Sunday; Jackson Wininger, Monday; Hannah Susie Perkins, Jo-Lynn Dargavell, and Amanda Burns, Tuesday; Ronnie Howe, Wednesday; Amy Burrus, Lori Winter and a very special young lady celebrating her sixth birthday, Miss Emma Ruth Farthing, Thursday; Brayden Ross Riddell, Friday; and William Earl Foster, Saturday. I hope that you all have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.

Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to my dear friends, Alonzo and Ellen Harvey, Sunday; Happy 51st anniversary to you. Happy anniversary also to Homer and Margaret Curry, Tuesday; and my dear friends, Johnny and Betty Collins will be celebrating their 33rd anniversary, Friday. I hope that you all have very happy anniversaries and many more happy ones to come.

I’ve been seeing a lot of farm work going on this week here in Baldwin. There is a lot of gardening going on in the neighborhood. I’ve seen some beautiful gardens.

Speaking of gardens, the Madison County Farmers Market is getting off to a slow start this year, the many early rains that we had put everything behind in planting, which makes everything late in harvesting. You must remember that the Madison County Farmers Market is 100 percent locally grown; nothing is bought and brought in. Some farmers are going and setting up on Saturdays now. My sisters, Isbell and Smith Farm Fresh Produce will be there this Saturday with some fresh vegetables. Stop by and see what the farmers have this Saturday, we hope to see you there.

Well, I guess that’s all for now. Let me know if you hear any news. Just give me a call at 623-4579 or
