Habrá pronto en Richmond servicios religiosos en español

El pastor Frank Quiñones de Corpus Chisti, Texas, esta ayudando a extender la mano a los Hispanos que viven en la comunidad de Richmond y que necesitan un lugar para ir a servicios religiosos.

Actualmente residiendo en Lexington, pronto viajara hasta Richmond y estará en la White Oak Pond Christian Church, Iglesia cristiana en 1238 de Barnes Mill Road, las misas iniciaran tentativamente en Agosto 20 con el primer servicio religioso que sera a las 2:30 p.m.

Quiñones fue pastor en Texas por 12 años, y ha estado viviendo en Lexington por cerca de seis años trabajando como traductor medico.

La mujer que atiende actualmente White Oak Pond Christian Church llevo a una familia mexicana desde Richmond para ver a Quiñones.

“Ellos me dijeron que no hay iglesias hispanas en el área” dijo el. “Ellos me pusieron en contacto con el pastor.”

El pastor de White Oak Pond Randy Rechenbach y la administración de la iglesia estuvieron de acuerdo en dejar a quiñones usar la iglesia para el servicio que sera conducido en español.

“Estoy muy emocionado de que el venga y haga esto” dijo Rechenbach. “Le dará la oportunidad a nuestra iglesia de atender a hispanos y esto es algo que se necesita en nuestra comunidad.”

Quiñones estima que al menos hay seis familias hispano hablantes en el área que estarían interesadas en asistir a la iglesia.

“Creo que serán como 30 personas con las que podríamos empezar incluyendo niños” dijo. “Nosotros (los hispanos) tenemos familias grandes. Yo tengo siete hijos.”

El es el padre de seis niños y una niña y tiene dos nietos. Su esposa Ruth es originaria de San Jose Costa Rica.

Quiñones advierte de las crecientes estadísticas criminales acerca de los hispanos en América y cree que la gente ha perdido la palabra de Dios.

“Creo que podemos hacer a la gente mejor” dijo. “Si tu les enseñas a las personas acerca de los principios del reino del cielo eso enriquecerá sus vidas y los hará mejores ciudadanos. Tendremos menos crimen. Algunos de nuestros esfuerzos para luchar contra el crimen no estan funcionando y yo se que la palabra de Dios ayudara.”
