MADISON COUNTY —
Area police agencies are looking for a man who led officers on a three-county chase Thursday in a stolen vehicle, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
A pickup truck passed a sheriff’s deputy who was responding to a call at 6 p.m. along Interstate 75, Deputy Willard Reardon, department spokesman, said. The vehicle was being driven recklessly, Reardon said.
The deputy attempted to pull the truck over, but it kept going. After running the truck’s license plate, the deputy learned the vehicle had been reported stolen in Ohio, Reardon said.
Several other police agencies joined the pursuit, including the Kentucky State Police and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
The chase continued south on I-75 through Rockcastle County and into Laurel County. At that point, the KSP deployed spike strips to disable the truck, and it ran off the road.
“The man bailed from the vehicle and ran into a wooded area,” Reardon said.
Police used K-9s and thermal-imaging tracking technology in an attempt to find the man, the deputy said. However, the police were not successful and are still looking for the man.
Reardon said he did not know if the man had been identified yet. He had a basic description of the driver ― a bald, white man with a goatee.
The KPS public information officer at the London post was at in-service training Friday, and no further information was available.

Man arrested Friday after early morning break-in
Richmond police made an arrest Friday in connection with an early morning break-in at Jack’s Cleaners on West Water Street.
Scott Hobbs, 42, of McKee, was charged with first-degree burglary, according to Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock
