Turpin Drive resident charged with making meth

RICHMOND — Richmond police arrested a Turpin Drive man Friday night on a charge of manufacturing meth.

Bryan K. Beagle, 27, was charged last week after police investigated a complaint about drug activity at his home in the 400 block of Turpin Drive.

Officers found several items in his bedroom commonly associated with making meth, including tubing, glass jars with red-tinted liquid inside, Coleman fuel, a funnel, iodine, lighter fluid, coffee filters and lithium batteries, according to an RPD news release.

Beagle was taken to the Madison County Detention Center, and he bonded out the next day.

Woman charged with burglary at Kroger

A woman who was banned from Kroger in 2004 was charged with felony burglary after police say she attempted to leave the store on Christmas Eve with $29 in merchandise.

Ondria L. Hickey, 35, of Bolton Avenue, was charged with third-degree burglary in the shoplifting incident, according to the RPD. She was taken to the Madison County Detention Center and bonded out the next day.

A store employee detained Hickey after she attempted to leave the store with the items, the RPD release stated. Police officers determined that she had previously been been banned from Kroger in 2004 following another shoplifting offense, which is why she was charged with felony burglary.

Computer, cash taken from Barringer Lane home

A resident in the 100 block of Barringer Lane reported Sunday that her apartment had been unlawfully entered during the late afternoon.

A black and silver Dell Inspiron 17-inch computer, worth $300, and $80 in cash was stolen. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the RPD.

Thefts reported in town

A resident in the 900 block of Villa Drive reported Monday that a Taurus .45 caliber pistol, worth $399, was stolen from her apartment sometime during the previous four months.

• A patron of Nikki’s Tavern, Water Street, reported Monday that her purse had been stolen Sunday from a table inside the bar during the evening.

The black-leather clutch purse contained a new iPhone 5 cell phone in a pink and blue protective case, $10, a Delta Zeta key chain with the initials TLG on the back and a driver’s license.

Estimated loss is $420.

• A resident in the 300 block of Lancaster Avenue reported Saturday that a blue and gray KHS 21-speed bicycle, model TC100, 15-inch, had been stolen from outside his apartment during the early morning. The bicycle is worth $362.

• A representative of Petro Serv Inc., 1929 Irvine Road, reported Friday that a Dewalt 18-volt sawzall, XPR model, and a Milwaukee 1/2-inch hammer drill was stolen from an unlocked company truck during the past day.

Estimated loss was $460.
