Wiring worth $15,000 stolen from job site

RICHMOND — Approximately 1,200 feet of 500 MCM electrical wiring, valued at $15,000, was stolen over the weekend from a building being remodeled at 690 Eastern Bypass, according to a Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock.

The wiring was cut from the building, a foreman overseeing the project told police. There were no signs of forced entry into the building, the police chief said.



Other thefts:

• The owner of an unoccupied residence on North Third Street that is undergoing renovation reported Tuesday that the home had been broken into overnight hours and a 3 by 7 feet, oyster-gray marble counter top was stolen. The counter top, valued at $400, contained two sink cutouts. Entry was gained by breaking a basement window, according to the police report.

• A resident of Dennis Street reported Wednesday that his vehicle had been unlawfully entered during the night and a number of items were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the police report.
Listed as missing are: a Winchester .30-30 caliber rifle, Model 94, in a camouflage saddle scabbard; a High Standard .22 caliber revolver with a 6-inch barrel and brown grips, blue and silver in color; a National City Bank bag containing $250 cash; and a bottle of prescription medication. Estimated loss:  $920.

    Richmond police made an arrest Friday in connection with an early morning break-in at Jack’s Cleaners on West Water Street.
    Scott Hobbs, 42, of McKee, was charged with first-degree burglary, according to Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock
    At 3:25 a.m., a witness reported seeing a man enter and exit the cleaners through a broken window and drive away, Brock stated in a news release.
