Over $2,700 worth of items stolen from apartment

RICHMOND — A burglar entered a Marietha Drive home Monday, stealing more than $2,700 worth of merchandise, according to Richmond Police Chief Larry Brock.

The resident of the apartment in the 700 block of Marietha Drive reported to Richmond police that her apartment has been broken into during the day.

“Entry was gained by breaking the kitchen window,” Brock confirmed.

Police are working to recover the following items:

• A black Westinghouse 26-inch LED television, model No. LD-265

• A MacBook Pro 13-inch laptop computer

• A blank personal check

• A silver, ladies’ 2008 Notre Dame Academy high school class ring

• A ladies’ size-seven gold ring with a garnet setting surrounded by tiny hearts and diamonds

• A diamond turtle pendant on a 20-inch silver necklace

• A KAT sorority silver necklace

• A a multi-colored KAT sorority bag

• A ladies’ aqua blue Guess wallet with a silver “G” emblem

• A Garmin GPS unit

• A white Nintendo Wii gaming system

• A black Hewlett Packard laptop computer

Police estimate the loss to be about $2,760.

Crimes reported Sept. 29:

• A visitor to the 300 block of High Street reported that a Dell Vostro laptop computer in a black and gray Swiss Army case was stolen overnight from his parked vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry, according to police. The estimated loss was $1,100.

• A resident in the 800 block of the Eastern Bypass reported his apartment had been unlawfully entered during the morning and a number of items were stolen.

No signs of forced entry were shown, Brock said.

The following items were reported missing:  $5,000 in cash, a Sony PlayStation 3 gaming system, a men’s silver Ecko wristwatch and a men’s gold Elgin wristwatch with a black leather band. The estimated loss is $5,410.

• An employee of Jerzees, 122 E. Main Street, reported his black Jonway moped, model MC-110-50, had been stolen from the rear parking lot of the bar between 8 p.m. Sept. 28 and 2 a.m. Sept. 29. The estimated loss is $800, according to police.
