BEREA —
An investigation into drug trafficking at a Mount Vernon Road home has resulted in the arrest of a woman on several drug-related charges.
Carla Rae Clontz, 48, was charged with three counts of first-degree drug trafficking, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking marijuana (under 8 ounces) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from Madison County Sheriff’s Department Maj. Mike Coyle.
The sheriff’s department executed a search warrant Tuesday on Clontz’s residence at 545 Mount Vernon Road in Berea, Coyle said. The investigation stemmed from complaints about suspected drug trafficking at the home, the release stated.
Assisted by the Berea Police Department, officers found Oxycodone, methadone and Xanax tablets, along with marijuana that has a street value of $11,000, Coyle said.
Clontz was arrested and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
