RICHMOND —
On March 1, a complainant reported 21 of his personal checks had been stolen and forged by his former roommate, Alec Hicks, 22, of Savannah Drive, according to a Richmond Police Department news release.
Investigators determined Hicks had passed forged checks, totaling $ 3,860, at a bank between Feb. 7 and 28, the report stated.
Hicks was charged with 21 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, 21 counts of second-degree forgery and theft by unlawful taking under $500.
Hicks was released to home incarceration Wednesday afternoon on a $10,000 third-party bond.
Other crimes reports
The owner of a rental home in the 500 block of North Second Street reported Wednesday that approximately 50 feet of copper pipping had been cut from the crawlspace of the home during the previous day. Estimated loss is $500.
On Monday, the owner of an apartment building in the 900 block of Villa Drive reported that the external Carrier heating/air conditioning unit for one of the apartments had been stolen during the past week. Estimated loss is $900.
