RICHMOND —
The Kentucky State Police arrested a Richmond man during a child pornography investigation Monday that also resulted in similar charges against six other men across the state.
Robbie Criswell, 42, was charged with possession of matter portraying a sexual performance of a minor (first offense) and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (first offense).
The KSP Electronic Crime Branch has been investigating several cases involving the possession and distribution of child pornography for several months, and on Monday troopers and detectives executed 13 search warrants at various locations in the state, according to a news release from the agency.
“Additional charges are expected upon complete examination of all the evidence obtained during execution of the search warrants,” the release stated.
The KSP Electronic Crime Branch is part of the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The task force is made up of officers at every level of law enforcement from local, state and federal departments within the state, according to the release.
Other arrests during the operation were: William R. Helton, 63, of Stony Fork; John M. Phillips, 25, of Kenvir; Harold Givens, 63, of London; James Baker, 40, of Nancy; Jose Garcia, 20s, of Versailles; and Thomas Whitehead, 47, of Greensburg.
