Man shot at least twice Friday morning

RICHMOND — Richmond police are investigating a shooting that happened early Friday morning on Central Court.

The 27-year-old male victim suffered at least two gunshot wounds to his back, but the injuries were nonlife-threatening, according to an RPD news release.

Police were sent at 12:50 a.m. to the 200 block of Central Court to investigate a 911 call about a possible shooting, according to the release. A man was on the caller’s front porch, claiming he had been shot.

The victim told police he had been shot walk walking on the nearby railroad tracks. However, the man was uncooperative with police, and it was unclear if he knew who shot him, the release stated.

The man also was uncooperative with the EMS workers who were treating him, the RPD reported.

He was taken to the UK Medical Center and is reported to be in good condition.
