MADISON COUNTY —
A woman who was indicted Dec. 19 on charges involving the repeated sexual abuse of a child is now in custody.
Deanna Lawson, 32, was booked into the Madison County Detention Center at 2:46 p.m. Friday, according to online jail records.
Her bond is set at $50,000.
Information about Lawson’s arrest was not available as a call to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, Deputy Willard Reardon, was not immediately returned Friday afternoon.
A Madison grand jury indicted Lawson and Eric Nelson Kelley, 30, on multiple counts in the case.
Kelley was charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy, and one count each of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and use of a minor in a sexual performance.
Lawson was indicted on four counts of complicity to rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and use of a minor in a sexual performance. She also was indicted on a charge of first-degree sexual abuse.
Lawson is accused of complicity for “failing to make an effort to prevent the acts … with the intention of promoting or facilitating those offenses” perpetrated against the child, according to the indictment.
Kentucky law states that complicity to a crime incurs the same penalty as perpetrating the crime.
Another man, Robbie Lynn Uhrin, 58, was charged with first-degree sodomy involving the same child.
Uhrin and Kelley were arrested Nov. 19 by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. Kelley remains in jail under a $50,000 bond, and Uhrin also is still incarcerated under a $10,000 bond.
Lawson was not in custody at the time of her indictment, but Commonwealth’s Attorney David Smith said a warrant would be issued for her arrest.
The rape and sodomy charges involving a child under 12 are Class A felonies that carry possible sentences of 20 years to life in prison. Use of a minor in a sexual performance is punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison, and first-degree sexual abuse carries a sentence of five to 10 years in prison.
Lawson and Kelley are scheduled to be arraigned at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in Madison Circuit Court. Uhrin is set for arraignment at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 3.

Three Richmond thefts reported Tuesday-Thursday
Richmond police are investigating thefts reported from Tuesday through Thursday.
An employee of Baptist Health, Eastern Bypass, reported Thursday that her vehicle had been broken into during the evening and a small shoulder purse was stolen. The purse contained several debit/credit cards, $70 in cash, and a Pantech slider cellular telephone. Estimated loss: $595. -

The attorney for 49-year-old Carla Rae Clontz made a motion earlier this month for a bill of particulars hearing. Both the prosecution and defense attorneys had noticed problems with the file numbers in Clontz’ case, and there also were different reports of the number of pills sheriff’s deputies allege were found in her home. -
Man charged in theft of cash, skates from Sonic
Richmond police charged Isaac Hamilton, 20, of South Killarney Lane, with two counts of theft by unlawful taking under $500 Tuesday after he allegedly stole from his employer.
Hamilton, a former employee of Sonic on Big Hill Avenue, left the drive-in restaurant May 15 with $273.84, a change dispenser and a pair of roller skates and did not return, the business reported to police. -
Grand jury indicts man on DUI, endangerment charges in injury accident
A February car crash in which one person suffered a broken arm led to the indictment this week of an Irvine man on four wanton endangerment charges.
Zachary C. Goosey, 20, was was traveling eastbound Feb. 18 on the Eastern Bypass when his vehicle crossed the median and struck a westbound vehicle stopped at a traffic light, according to a Richmond police news release. -
