Peter Sigilai, an Eastern Kentucky University graduate student, takes samples from a stream used for drinking water in an impoverished rural region of his native Kenya. He and fellow EKU grad student and Kenyan Ben Cheruiyot recently spent three weeks in the East African nation with EKU faculty member Dr. Jason Marion to assess drinking-water health risks.
