Phillip Seyfrit, Madison County Historic Properties director, closes the door on a former slave dwelling at Pleasant View in Battlefield Memorial Park. A $400,000 federal grant through the state Transportation Cabinet to enhance tourism will fund renovation of the Pleasant View house and restoration of the one surviving slave quarters.
