Electronic cigarettes, or e-cigarettes, are cylinders in which a nicotine-containing liquid is heated to produce a vapor that is inhaled. Proponents of the device claim it is safer than conventional cigarettes that burn tobacco, because they do not release products of combustion such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and particulants.
